Anne, you were in Scotland last year? I'm apparently officially out of the loop. At least I had some inkling of the Knox family scottish heritage, otherwise I may have to introduce myself to this bunch of strangers I have stumbled upon. Nametags anyone?
Oh, and I whacked the haggis 603 (meters, I suppose?). How'd everyone else do?
That was awesome! Thanks to Robert the Bruce for introducing me to my new at work hobby! Oh, I bashed it 607 metres, just barely beating Dana - woohoo!
I've been to Scotland once as well - about 3 years ago, on a trip with my college soccer team. We were in England as well. I did not try any haggis, but my best story is of when I got eaten by a mountain (a "highland"?).
I was there last summer with my parents and Michelle Beaver's family after graduation. We traveled around Great Britain before Michelle started summer labs in London with the Chem E department.
I think I have some Scottish heritage, too...Greer is my mother's maiden name which is apparently some convoluted form of McGregor.
Well I didn't actually think y'all would make a big deal out of the Scottish part as much as the whole rock-falling-haggis-smashing part. But no worry. either way. I haven't actually been to Scotland (yet), but I am planning a trip to the UK sometime next June to visit my sister, and perhaps J. Brown (an English name I think, depending on what it was derived from)who will be in Scotland by that time (hopefully).
I just hope the Tartans are cheaper there, cause I'm sick of paying all this extra import-luxury tax crap for the ones I wear now!!!
Jay, at one time I actually had an email address that was derived from robert_the_bruce. But evidently someone beat me to the name so I had to use the phoenetic <--(spell check that one) spelling instead. My email was therefore: rahburt_the_broos. It made certain people laugh, others just confused.
anyway.
I think my all-time best distance is like 933. Believe it or not I have screen shots of some of my best ones. But I think the highest one I have a picture of is 899. If you don't believe me, I'll send it to you. (autographs will be signed in the lobby after the show)
anyway, (again)
everyone have a good week!! I get to drive to Memphis for work tuesday and then back on thursday. It should be a lot of NOT fun!!
