Ankeny marching band competition
Just curious if anyone will be going to Ankeny this weekend? Brian, Maya and I will be going, and it would be great to meet up. Dameon's band (Williamsburg) is playing at 6:34, so we'll definitely be there in time to watch that.

Wish I could make it! Band competitions and my schedule this fall just haven't been cooperating; either in MN or IA! Ankeny needs to step up their technology and get some streaming video on their website... Although you can't deny the nostalgic atmosphere of a HS marching band competition! A blasphemy of said nostalgia will occur up here in a few weeks when MN has its state marching band competition at the Metrodome! Inside?!? There's just something wrong about that. At least it will be on a football field and not on a stage in Pella's HS auditorium...
i actually went to valleyfest last weekend - jay is a former (or continuing, since he's in winterset's city band) band nerd, so we went for the entire "showdown" night show - it was really fun. osky got 3rd (behind pella and independence), and frankly, deserved it i thought...but you know al...i saw him before they did awards and he said he'd be "shocked" if they didn't get 1st. oh well. anyway, i hope you have fun at ankeny. i wish i could go, but i have a "christmas" celebration at my grandma's before they leave for arizona this year. tell dameon hello!
