Ankeny Marching Band
I'm going to Ankeny tonight, so if anyone else is going to be there, come say hi! I'm excited to see Dameon's band (he's the director at Williamsburg) and to see my cousin Bailey direct Osky's band. And of course to see Mr. Paulson, considering he was and continues to be my idol...

How was it? Wish I had been there!
It was fun - Chad met me there, and we ran into Adam Stevens & Steve Peterson. Osky looked okay, although I was disappointed to hear them doing boring music now. I always liked our fun music! I heard that Pella beat Osky (big shocker, huh?), but I didn't stay for results. I wasn't up to 11:00pm results, considering I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me!
Unfortunately I was unable to make it to Ankeny this year. I did attend two competitions earlier in the season, however. I went to Marion and Urbandale. This was my brother Kyle's last year, he is the drumline section leader. They did manage to win 2 or 3 best drumline awards at other competitions, so that's pretty cool. Sad that the Collman presence in Osky's marching band has come to an end, though!

In 3A, there were 10 bands.
3 - Independence (who beat us earlier this year) - 79.45
2 - Oskaloosa - 79.9, best auxiliary
1 - Pella - 83.8, best percussion
drumline ranking - 4th
Weather - unbelievably nice for Ankeny
