Mark McCurdy

hey guys...

i just thought i would let you know that mark mccurdy died this week. i know he was a few years ahead of us in school, so you might not remember him very well, but those of you who were in chorus would probably remember sarah mccurdy, his twin sister. his death was not unexpected...he had been living with a ventilator and feeding tube for the last few weeks, and i think his body just finally gave up. he had muscular dystrophy since birth, and wasn't expected to live to age 20, so it was a blessing for his famlily that they had him in their lives as long as they did. anyway, i thought you might want to know in case you knew mark or his family. the obituary is in the herald today - visitation is tomorrow evening and the funeral is on saturday. please keep their family in your prayers.

Come on in, the water's frigid!

Here's Michelle and I on a beach in Scotland. Yes, I said Scotland! That's kinda sorta the Atlantic Ocean behind us. If you haven't been up in the highlands of Scotland yet, I would highly recommend it! Fabulous scenery!! This particular beach was along the west coast of the Isle of Skye. Beautiful.

May the force be with you

So has everyone seen Episode III yet? What'd you think?
I personally thought it was better than I and II, but still not quite on par with the original trilogy. The fight scenes were really nice, but there's just something. . . I don't know what it is (or isn't) that just makes me like the old ones more.

Don't worry I won't think poorly of you if you say that you liked it. . . after all I liked the new batman movie!

A calendar worthy date I didn't forget

(to be sung loudly, boisterously and off key)

Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday to you!
Happy Birthday dear Teresa,
Happy Birthday to you!

His 9th Life has come and gone

Well everyone, I just wanted to share with you that your favorite, evil cat has gone to kitty heaven. I went home to visit the parents Memorial Day weekend and arrived to a cat-less house. Poor Pepper had finally succumbed to his feline diabetes and took his last trip to the vet that Saturday morning. So, remember the good times (?) and may he finally rest in peace.

Father's Day is WHEN!?!

So, uh, the calendar has been neglected as of late (did anyone know that today is Flag Day?) and I just realized that Father's Day is this weekend. I really thought I had another week.

Does anyone else have an impossible to shop for dad? Okay, probably the wrong question. Let's try again: Who has an easy to shop for father? Anyone?

I'm currently stumped as to what to get my dad and my father-in-law (as Brent is quite possibly the worst gift-giver on the face of the planet. But hey, everyone has got to have a flaw.). They aren't golfers, fishermen or even tie wearers, so that automatically eliminates most of the generic gift ideas that are commonly pushed on unsuspecting consumers.

Can I pick your collective brains? As you are all good children, I'm sure your Father's Day shopping is already complete. Have any ideas to throw my way? And more importantly, do you think I could get by with some macaroni and glitter creation anymore?
