Happy Birthday to Us!

So I just realized that this blog turned one-year old this month! I missed the actual day: August 4th, 2004 was when this blog was born. Just thought I'd mention it!

I know there have been fluctuations (careful to read that right, I almost typed it wrong!) in usage, varying from wasteland of inactivity to alive and kicking. All in all I think it has been pretty useful. I've really enjoyed getting caught up on everyone's lives and I'm glad that everyone has taken the time to share some stories, thoughts, etc.

Here's what I'm hoping for in the next year of this group:
- I will post more than once in a blue moon!
- I will get at least 2 of the 4 remaining people I invited to join in!
- We will plan a RL (Real Life) get-together and achieve at least 60% attendance!

And I guess my boss rubbed-off on me when he had one of his rare, "I'm going to be very managerial today and we're going to have a meeting and set goals and stuff today..." moments yesterday. That always lasts about a day and a half, then we both forget about it all for the next 4 or 5 weeks!

Ok, I'm done babbling now. Cheers to all of you, distant comrades!

Back-to-School

Anybody else have an urge to go buy new pens and notebooks? Or is it just me?
I'll willingly admit that I'd be a professional student if I could somehow pull it off (i.e. pay for it).

to Rebecca and Teresa - Are you back in school yet? And more importantly, how many days until Christmas break?

and to Jake because I still have an in (or two) to the ISU schedule - Happy first day back. Go get some free cookies from Welcome Fest for me.

Jeff Brown

I don't know if any of you are in touch with Jeff at all, but I thought some of you may be interested in a little update. He is currently living in Ireland, as a semi-professional rower! Check out the link above if you want to see his profile on Hi5. Below is a portion of a recent message he sent me:

been looking at the blog, seems like everyone is doing really well. we're...well, YOU all are productive/successful members of society!

just hanging out here in ireland for a while longer, perhaps try to stay longer, or come back, not too sure at this moment.

Since I know most of our little group did not go to the reunion, we'll have to try to make something happen before the next one, just in case. Sounds like Dana, and Michelle, are the real difficult ones, living so far away....granted I am 3200 miles away, but in 3 years time, who knows.

take care of yourself Jay!
